Wash toilet system

The wash toilet system can be fixed in any ordinary home and is a common item in Japan, and it started to spread in the second half of the 1990’s in Japan having a clean soil.

The main functions are washing the bottom with hot water and then drying, and also heating toilet seat function during the cold season

The latest ones are equipped with auto opening and closing of the lid, bedpan washing, deodorization, and fragrance functions.

The anti-bacterial and anti-foulant effect are also considered. The nozzle is set at an angle (43°) so that the warm water rebounding from the anus does not get splashed to the surroundings. The function to wash the nozzle with the warm water during storage and before washing is also provided.

It can be said as a very clean product for ecology from the point of not using the toilet paper at all. This item has progressed uniquely in Japan, and plays a role to spread the safety of water of Japan.
The functions like seat shape that does not result in tiredness even if a book is read, noiseless function, and more are considered. The Japanese rest room keeps evolving.

Food sample

This week I will introduce about a very unusual technique of Japan.

Usually when we take food in a restaurant, we use to order the food by seeing the items in the menu that is kept on the table.

In Japan, there is a custom of displaying the food sample models at the shop front for the customers to see, same as the menu given in the restaurant.

The technique of making the same item as the menu is called as the Food sample.

The raw material used is wax only.

Yes it is the wax used in candle.

The items same as the menu is made by adding various colors to this wax, melting it with hot water while heating with the dryer.

All the images are samples, and not the real food items.
Naturally, it cannot be consumed as the material is wax.

This is what you can expect to see before a Japanese restaurant.

Here are some Youtube videos showing the preparation of Food sample.

I think it will be very interesting!

It is also made as an exhibit for appreciation, and not for the purpose of eating, from the technique and artistic view point of candy making.

Of course, it is all made from edible items.

The candy making is a very beautiful art craft and can be named as one of the Japanese traditional crafts.
