Folding
fan (..called as “Sensu” in Japanese language) is a tool used to push the wind
by my hand.
During
the time when there was no electrical appliance, and during the hot summer
times, the folding fan is held by hand, and by shaking it wind is made to pass
through one’s face and chillness is obtained.
Though
it is a primitive tool now, it is especially popular among the foreign people,
as a souvenir of Japan, and as an object to place in the room, from the
artistic point of view.
I
think that, by just decorating the living room with the folding fan, it will
change as the room where the Japanese atmosphere can be felt.
