Suzuka Circuit



Honda constructed the circuit as the first real circuit of Japan in 1962. This circuit is also called as the test track of HONDA.

Maximum height difference of the land and the balance of the low speed and high-speed corner are matched well, and is evaluated as a course with high degree of difficulty and racing effect.
F1 driver David Coulthard said, “It is a terrific course where one can actually feel that he is a grand prix driver”.
Sebastian Vettel won the F1 Japan championship of 2009, and praised it as “This is the circuit made by the hand of God”

About the S shaped corner section, Vettel talk excitedly that “The F1 machine is made to attack the corners like this”, and Mark weber said “How fast one runs through this decides a man”.

The F1 driver comes to Japan every year to attack this course while enjoying it. Similar to Monaco, winning here is the honor for F1 driver. Moreover, in case of an accident, the course marshal deals with it and the first-aid system of medical staff are maintained. They have obtained a high appraisal as the best in the world in line with Monaco in F1 hosting circuit.

In the questionnaire by FIA targeting the F1 fans for the items in “Favorite circuit” in 2005, it got the 5th highest number of votes following The Monte Carlo urban district course (Monaco), Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium), Silverstone Circuit (UK), and Monza circuit (Italy).
