Japanese cars-3 MAZDA AZ-1, HONDA BEET and SUZUKI Cappuccino

Light motor vehicle in Japanese standards

This is a popular second car for the family as the parking certificate is not required during registration and the annual tax is also less.  (Annual tax for usual car is 40,000 yen, and for the light car it is 4,000 yen).

The standard of light motor vehicle is

Length up to 3.4m, Width up to 1.48m, Height up to 2.0m, Engine displacement up to 600cc

This is mostly purchased in each family as the second car for the house wife as the size and power of the car cannot help for long range and large group of persons.

The 3 cars that stand out of the many cars that has been launched till now are

MAZDA AZ-1, HONDA BEET AND SUZUKI Cappuccino

The letter A of AZ-1, B of BEET, and C of Cappuccino is taken, and called as the ABC trio of light sports car.

MAZDA AZ-1

HONDA BEET

SUZUKI Cappuccino

It seized the prosperity as the car during the heyday of the bubble of Japan as the utility car was definitely at the opposite end of the scale.

The light standard sports car was simultaneously launched by every company as if they had prearranged, and lot of investment was made in the development.

These vehicles disappeared immediately as the economic bubble burst just before the launch.

The rough specifications of these 3 cars are

Total length 3300mm, Total width 1400mm, Total height 1200mm, Weight 700kg, Engine displacement 650cc
Anyway, it is small.

The weight distribution at the front and back of the 3 cylinder DOHC engine is almost the same and it had the happiness to surpass the sports car with high engine displacement.

It is maintaining the deep rooted popularity even now as 20 years have passed from the launch.

When driving in the public road, it is not the competition between the persons but the level of happiness is driving, shows the evidence of the charm of the car.

At the same time, Cappuccino was exported to Britain.

In spite of the price of a new car exceeding 5 million yen (The price of a new car in Japan is 1.5 million yen), there are a lot of lovers at this place and the owners club continues even now.

This was not present in Europe at that time.

One can guess about receiving both the happiness of the small car above expectation and great impact.

Other countries don’t have this car.

I wish the Japanese manufacturers resell the car having full of originality.

Because the car is not the item for transportation alone!

Toyota 86

Six months had passed since the launch of TOYOTA 86 introduced earlier.

The owner who was looking forward to sell the car had made some customization to his taste during the time of purchase.

This is an appearance of the new car during the delivery.

Now see how the buyer has changed the car.

I think the Japanese who gives finishing touches to this extent in half year really loves the car very much.
