Japan’s scariest suspension bridge (Musou suspension bridge)

Muso suspension bridge (Muso literally means Blank mind in Japanese language) is the suspension bridge used for forestry operation, constructed in the Sakasa gochi river of Shizuoka prefecture. The official declaration of the bridge by Kawane Honchou is Musou suspension bridge.

The construction of suspension bridge to cross the deep valley was done in the upper stream of Oigawa, the traditional wood producing area. The length and the height from the riverbed of the Musou suspension bridge is outstanding among those bridges.

It is regrettable that the crossing of the bridge was stopped on June 29, 2010 due to safety reasons. This is the bridge that has been publicized as the “Japan’s scariest suspension bridge” in the television program.
