TOYOTA TE-Spyder 800

“TE-Spyder 800” is the 2-seater open exhibited by Toyota Motor at the “Tokyo auto salon 2014”.

This car was made by the Toyota in-house Engineering society team with “The pioneers spirit sublimed the once popular car Publica in Toyota sports 800 is reborn in the present popular car Prius!” as the theme.

The three size of the vehicle is total length 3,910mm x width 1,735mm x total height 1,235mm. The wheelbase is 2,450mm.

The power train of Prius PHV is installed based on “MR-S”.

The engine is tuned based on 1NZ-FE of 1.5L.

It is a combination of gasoline engine that generates maximum power of 116ps/6,400rpm and maximum torque 15.3kgm/4,400rpm and the motor that generates maximum power 102ps and maximum torque 22.4kgm.

It looks like the new proposal to change the image of the traditional HV, and the naming of “800” is not the engine displacement but shows that the car is supplied at 800kg.

It will become a big topic if the open model of this PHV method is made as an incarnation, while Honda is developing the “S660” of open 2-seater.
