The exhibition “Tokyo Auto Salon 2014” for customized cars and related products was held at Makuhari Messe. (Makuhari Messe is a Japanese convention center outside Tokyo, located in the Mihama-ku ward of Chiba city, in the northwest corner of Chiba prefecture)
The Tokyo Auto Salon office announced that the number of people who attended the session was record-setting 296,714 people.
This surpassed the maximum visitors until now of 282,659 people who
attended the previous exhibition held during the year 2013.
The breakdown was 63,155 people on 10th,
104,616 people on 11th, and 128,943 people on 12th of
January 2014, and blessed by the weather with fine weather on all the three days.
After the Lehman shock of 2008, the opinion of “The car era has ended” was
heard here and there.
The golden age of the eco-friendly car has arrived, and the grieving
voice of the car fan for the last few years stood out. The people who are interested
in car still now is high, and you can understand this by seeing the number of
visitors of this event.
If you see the customer layer, though the people in
their 30’s and 40’s are overwhelmingly high, there is an impression that the
young male group in their 20’s has increased this year. 
As the manufacturer released the fascinating cars like Toyota 86, Honda
NSX, and Nissan GT-R proactively, this is the actual proof for the customers following
it.
I would like the manufacturers to continue making the fascinating cars that would make a happy driving in the future also!
