Special number plate to commemorate Tokyo Olympics 2020

A special number plate for car to commemorate the Tokyo Olympics in the year 2020 will be issued to the whole country by the end of next year.

The government has created the special colorful number plate including the design that symbolizes Japan like the Olympics mark and Mt. Fuji etc. for a limited time until the fiscal year 2020, and has enabled for the applicants to acquire. 

It is planned to save a part of the furnishing price to the savings fund, and to allot it to the improvement of traffic service for the Olympics.
 
As per the law it is prohibited to use the designs other than the number and character in the number plate of the car, but the law is revised to raise the Olympics, and directed for an exceptional service.

The issue will be stopped after the end of the 2020 Olympics, but the issued special number plate could be used continuously.
 
The applicant can receive the delivery of a special number plate by paying to the contribution fund of about few hundred yen along with the issuing charges of the plate.
 
The number plate that has already been owned for the car can be replaced to the special number plate.
