Kushikatsu – Japanese food

Kushikatsu is a Japanese word that means the Japanese-style of deep-fried kebab.
If you say Osaka, the gourmet that rivals the octopus fritters and okonomiyaki is the Kushikatsu.

Kushikatsu means any of the deep-fried breaded meat or vegetables on skewers, or Japanese style of deep-fried kebab, or deep-fried mixed kebabs.

Kushikatsu is made by adding the breadcrumbs to the meat or seafood, and frying it in oil. There are abundant varieties, and it is a standard to say Kushikatsu with beer in one hand.

There are many Kushikatsu shops in Osaka, and the famous one is Shinsekai.

Recently it is recommended for sightseeing, and lot of couples and families are also visiting.

If you say Kushikatsu, there is a rule “Dip a skewer only once” or “Do not re-dip after having a bite”

In other words, it is decided that you can dip the Kushikatsu only once in the sauce kept in the table, because other customers are also using the sauce together, and hence the rule is that you do not dip the item that you have bite once.

The Kushikatsu specialty shop is not available in entire Japan, and it is present in the area where the Kushikatsu is eat from the past or at the center of large cities.
I wish you to eat at the Shinsekai where there is lot of specialty shops, and it is most famous in Japan as well.
