Japanese whisky

The production of whisky in Japan started during 1870, and the production for sales started during 1924.


There are many companies manufacturing whisky in Japan, and two companies that can be mentioned are M/s. Suntory Holdings Limited and Nikka whiskey. Both companies are manufacturing both the single malt and blended whisky.



The Japanese whisky was initiated as the model of the Scotch whisky.
However, the peculiar smoky flavor of the Scotch whisky is suppressed to match the taste of the Japanese, and many of them are finished with light taste.
The blended whisky that is the mixture of malt whisky and grain whisky occupies the main stream of the Japanese whisky. 





I think that the Japanese whisky is not famous worldwide, but it is a very delicious whisky based on the good water and firm control.
